Our Children’s Sunday School program is built on a “rotation” model—this means children study the same biblical story for 2 or 3 weeks utilizing a different way of learning each week. The children gather each week at 9:30 A.M. in Andover Hall (basement level) for songs and learning for all ages. Then they divide into age groups for their “rotation.” These sessions take place in various places around the building and utilize a variety of methods of learning.
Sing and Swing (basement level) provides a space of music, dance, and movement. Children learn songs about bible characters and stories, and sometimes create their own songs and dances to tell the story. What’s Cooking Café (basement level) is a place to learn through food. Children bake bread and create other treats that teach them about bible stories.
Holywood Theater (second floor) is a big screen theater (well, about 10 feet) that can seat about 30 adults or children for a short clip or a feature film. The adults use this space for Reel Theology and other events. Creation Station (second floor) is an art room where children are encouraged to let their creative juices flow. Here they can learn that their own creativity is a reflection of the God who created them in God’s own image.
Bible Bytes (basement level) is a computer lab with four computers (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) that are set up with games, learning software, and are connected to the internet. Kids can link up with the Church throughout the world!
