We're located at the corner of Juliette and Poyntz...right where we've been since a group of abolitionists founded our church in the 1850s. We are a group of open-minded, big-hearted Christ-followers who are committed to working for justice and loving all, just as Jesus has taught us to do.
Advent & Christmas 2019
If you've been looking for a place where you and your family can sing Christmas carols, experience the story of Jesus's birth, and find space to slow down and create space for the Spirit to move in your life, we'd love to welcome you.
This season we will...
host the community for World AIDS Day,
honor stillness and quiet at Taize Worship,
continue to serve a hot meal every Sunday evening,
explore our faith in adult and children's classes,
enjoy yoga+donuts with the community,
rejoice during the annual Christmas Pageant,
spread holiday cheer by Christmas Caroling together.
Free Advent Devotionals and a Family Advent Action Calendar are available for you. These gorgeous, interactive resources from A Sanctified Art are guaranteed to enhance your Advent season. Pick one up in the lobby any time after Nov. 17th or contact the church office.
World AIDS Day Dinner
Sunday, Dec. 1 at 5:30pm
As the days grow colder, it's good to gather with friends old and new to find a little warmth. Join us for this year's World AIDS Day observance on Sunday, Dec. 1st. We will be warming up with some fun, interactive cooking lessons...learn how to make soup from scratch out of whatever you have in your fridge and cabinets PLUS how to make some warm bread in under an hour! A free soup supper will be served and you are encouraged to bring a nonperishable food item for our Blessing Box if you are able.
During dinner we'll share informal conversation about World AIDS Day as we remember where we've been and look forward to the future with hope. We will include the annual candle lighting as a part of our evening.
