Advent & Christmas 2018
If you've been looking for a place where you and your family can sing Christmas carols, experience the story of Jesus's birth, and find space to slow down and create space for the Spirit to move in your life, we'd love to welcome you.
This season we will...
honor stillness and quiet at Living Room & Taize Worship,
continue to serve a hot meal every Sunday evening,
support activists as they find ways to connect with purpose,
explore our faith in adult and children's classes,
enjoy yoga+donuts with the community,
create space for grief and longing,
rejoice during the annual Christmas Pageant,
host the community for World AIDS Day,
warm our hearts with Handel's Messiah.
Deane Lehmann will be offering free community acupuncture each Thursday in our building. Stop in for just a bit or stay for the whole time. You'll receive five needles in each ear to help you find relaxation.
Sustaining Activism for the Long-Haul
Friday, Dec. 14 from 5:30-9:00pm
How do we connect to what is ours to do in this world? What can we hold on to while the world swirls around us? How do we stay engaged in advocating for justice for the long haul....without burning out? How might we find joy in the work? We will engage these and other similar questions at this gathering.
We begin the evening with a simple supper and use group work and individual reflection to help each participant connect to their sense of deep purpose. The evening will also include an opportunity for brief guided or silent meditation, qigong, community acupuncture, or learning about spiritual direction.
Sunday, Dec. 23 at 10:45am
Join us on the final Sunday of Advent as we receive the gift of music from our choir. They will be sharing selections from the Christmas portion of Handel's Messiah. Rachel Hunt and David Wood will be featured as soloists.
