Sunday, August 20 we will have a Blessing of the Backpacks during worship. Children are invited to bring their backpacks and receive a blessing as they return to school. We are thrilled that the Ministry of the Decorative Scissors is again providing the custom-made backpack trinkets for our children. "Big kids" and adults are welcome to bring along their briefcases, diaper bags, work uniforms or other items that represent their daily work in the world. We will also bless those who are returning to teaching – whether that’s in a college classroom, an elementary school, or at home with young children.
If you consider yourself to be a young adult and are looking to connect with other young adults in our community, consider joining this monthly gathering. Those with and without children are welcome. The group typically gathers for a potluck in someone's home or out in the community each month. The August gathering is on August 19th in the home of David and Jared Hoff. Questions? contact David Williams (email or text/call), who coordinates the group.

Children in elementary school are invited to join us for acolyte training on Sunday, August 27th at 10am. Kids will leave Sunday School early that day to meet up with Andria and Pastor Caela in the sanctuary. We'll invite the older kids who have already been acolytes help train the younger and new ones. We look forward to welcoming a new group of acolytes into our rotation. If you have questions, please contact Andria.
School supply lists are out. College students will soon be filling the town. Summer is coming to a close. This August, join us as we go back to school with Jesus. We'll spend the month of August exploring some of his parables during worship and we kick off this four week sermon series on August 6th with a special Jazz Worship and a sermon on what it means to be a disciple. And...save the date for August 20th. We'll be blessing backpacks and teachers during worship that day and partying at Feast and Festival that night. The 20th is also our kick-off date for new classes for kids, youth, and adults at 9:30 a.m.
The season of Easter culminates in the celebration of Pentecost! Fifty days after Easter Sunday, we gather to remember God's gift of the Holy Spirit who arrives in a rush of wind and flame. You can help us by wearing red, orange, or yellow on that day....together we will make a holy flame as we hear the text from Acts 2.

We are excited to announce that there is a new opportunity for connection and community for those who self-identity as young adults (both with and without children). A group of young adults have begun meeting on a monthly basis for potluck dinners. Their next gathering is June 10th at 6pm at City Park at the shelter near the playground on the south side of the park. You are encouraged to bring a dish to share (nothing fancy - store bought is fine!). Several people in the group are vegetarian or gluten-free. Faith through the Seasons with Sean Weston. Each season of life brings different questions of faith, meaning, and understanding our place in the world. At every age, there are amazing opportunities for growth and tough challenges. This four-week series starting April 23, led by Sean Weston, will explore the questions and struggles people face on their faith journeys in each decade of life. Based on the experiences of those who participate as well as research on faith development, we will seek to be strengthened in our faith journeys and grow in our understandings of ourselves and people of all ages. NOTE: no class on May 7 due to Worship in the Park.
