“Behold, the newsletter is doing a new thing!”
Recently, several of us gathered around tables in Andover Hall for a simple potluck meal. We came together to discuss worship. As we munched on cheese and grapes, salad and hummus, we talked about topics we’d like to explore during worship: Bible passages, theological questions, spiritual practices and more. We came up with many more ideas than we’ll be able to explore in worship in the near future, but I left the meeting excited about all the ideas that were flowing. And so I want to invite you to join me in doing a new thing in our monthly newsletter. Each quarter, I’ll introduce a topic and share a few questions for reflections. You are invited to consider sending in your thoughts and they might be published. Submissions can be from anyone in the congregation and in the neighborhood of 250-500 words. Sharing will give you a chance to put your thoughts together, help us learn more about each other as a congregation, and help us learn from one another. Here’s the topic for the summer months: “teach us how to pray.” Each week in worship we pray a different version of the Prayer of Jesus (or Lord’s Prayer). Here are some questions to get your creative juices flowing. You might choose to write in with the answer to just one question or a couple.
If you’d like to be considered for publication in the June, July, or August newsletters, please email your submission directly to me no later than May 15th. I look forward to seeing what we can share with one another in the coming months. Pastor Caela Comments are closed.
